Patrick R. Nichols, DVM

Dr. Patrick R. Nichols is a 1983 Biomedical Science graduate of Texas A&M University and a 1987 Doctoral graduate of the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine.  He performed general medicine for nine years in Austin prior to entering a two year residency in veterinary dermatology and allergy at Gulf Coast Dermatology & Allergy in Houston where his resident training was accredited by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.  He then gained further expertise by performing an additional year internship at the Animal Dermatology Clinic of Southern California before returning to Austin in 1999 to open the Animal Allergy and Dermatology Center of Central Texas.

Dr. Nichols was born in East Texas where he lived a childhood full of family, faith, academics, and sports. His late father, whom everyone hailed as "Doc" Nichols, was a cornerstone of the community and the only veterinarian in all of Tyler county.  Young Patrick grew up helping his father perform all sorts of veterinary procedures, from surgery and obstetrics to routine care of household pets and farm animals.

In addition to the great fulfillment he gains from helping pets lead healthier, happier lives, Dr. Nichols enjoys spending time with his wife of thirty years, Jennifer, and sons, Luke and Blake.  The family loves their retired drug dog, Jazz, Charlie the cat, and recently added three new rescues - Frankie-the-Wonder-Dog and kittens Joey and Phoebe.
